STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Skaters learn skills in a progressive and sequential manner with the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.
The program consists of skills in four areas - Skating Skills, Ice Dance, Free Skate and Interpretive.
Each area is divided into 6 categories of testing that skaters may choose to complete.
STARSkate participants are also able to compete throughout the season at Club Competitions, STARSkate Interclub Competitions and Invitational Competitions.
To register for private skating please contact the club.
Those who show potential as competitive skaters, upon the advice of their coach, can participate in the CompetitiveSkate program. In this program, skaters compete in qualifying events within Skate Canada.
Many competitive skaters also continue with the STARSkate program throughout their competition season, taking tests in all areas of skating.
